In late May, 2007, I conducted an informal and unscientific survey of teachers who are making regular use of Class Blogmeister, a blogging engine created for classroom use. Out of approximatly 5,000 teachers who have signed up to use Class Blogmeister, 50 participated in the survey during the first two days. Here is a rough evaluation of the results.
Question #1: My students enjoy writing more, when they write in their blogs.

Question #2: I have seen evidence that my students, in general, take greater care with their writing, when writing in their blogs.

Question #3: My students, in general, are more likely to complete homework assignments when they involve writing in their blogs.

Question #4: I have seen evidence that my students, in general, have improved their writing skills as a result of blogging, than previous classes without blogging.

Question #5: I have seen evidence that my students, in general, learn better when they blog about what they are learning.

Question #6: Which group(s) have you seen develop writing and learning skills especially well as a result of blogging?

Reminder: This is based on a casual survey completed by a small sampling of blogging teachers using one of several classroom blogging products.
